Ky. adds 1,702 COVID cases, 20 deaths

There were 1,702 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Kentucky Wednesday, as the positivity rate continued to drop.

Those new cases put the overall total since the pandemic began at 739,863—there were 20 newly reported deaths, bringing the death toll to 9,685.  The positivity rate fell once again, now down to 5.56 percent, from the 5.66 it was the day before.

On the COVID-19 state incidence rate map, Trigg County has once again gone ‘red’, while Christian remains ‘orange’ and Todd County remains ‘yellow’.

There are currently 869 people in the hospital with COVID-19, 276 in the ICU and 145 on a ventilator.
