Human Rights Commission Unity Breakfast coming up Thursday

The Human Rights Commission is ready to host their annual Unity Breakfast Thursday morning, where they will give out awards and celebrate diversity in the community.

The breakfast will start at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the James E. Bruce Convention Center and Raychel Fort-Farmer with the commission says the keynote speaker will be Terrance Sullivan, the Executive Director of the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights.

Fort-Farmer says this is the commission’s biggest fundraiser, which helps fund their many programs and helps them continue to provide assistance to those in need in the community.

They will give out several awards—with the nominees having already been notified—including the prestigious Hal and Bettye Thurmond Award, the Unity Award and more.  For more information about the event or the Human Rights Commission, call them at (270) 887-4010.
