The bands from Christian County and Hopkinsville high schools advanced to the 4A state semifinals in Bourbon County after their performances Saturday at the West Regional quarterfinals.
Christian County placed first Saturday and received a distinguished rating. It’s the Colonel Band’s highest placement at regionals since 1996.
Meanwhile, Hopkinsville’s Band of Tigers claimed third place, received a distinguished rating and also advances.
Madisonville-North Hopkins High School was the fourth local 4A school to qualify for the state semifinals.
