Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble has announced he will run for re-election in 2022.
In a statement to media Friday Tribble says, “Serving the good people of Christian County as their county judge executive has been one of the great privileges and honors of my life. I have taken that honor and privilege very seriously. Accordingly, I have worked tirelessly for the people I am honored to represent.”
He says he has maintained an “open door policy, willing to talk to anyone at any time about any concern or suggestion any citizen of Christian County may have regarding our community, our county government or any service provided by county government.”
He says he avoids “political grandstanding” and that he talks to people often who are tired of partisan bickering.
Tribble says he’s proud of the thousands of jobs created during his time as judge-executive and that the county’s future depends on economic development.
If re-elected, Tribble says he will remain focused on expanding broadband internet access, properly funding law enforcement and maintaining the county’s road system.
Tribble, a Democrat, was first elected in 1993.
Two Republicans—Magistrate Jerry Gilliam and entrepreneur Katie Moyer—are seeking the GOP nomination.

Serving the good people of Christian County as their County Judge Executive has been one of the great privileges and honors of my life. I have taken that honor and privilege very seriously. Accordingly, I have worked tirelessly for the people I am honored to represent. I have always maintained an “open door policy” willing to talk to anyone at anytime about any concern or suggestion any citizen of Christian County may have regarding our community, our county government or any service provided by county government.
My philosophy is pretty simple. I have committed myself to avoid political grandstanding. The people I talk to on a daily basis are tired of political bickering and partisanship. I have learned that most problems facing local government do not have a Democratic or Republican solution. These problems have a “common sense” solution. It takes a combination of hard work, common sense, and a sense of cooperation to find responsible solutions.
I have committed myself over the years to work hand in hand with city government, the private sector, and volunteers to create a community that people are proud to call home.
Our future depends upon continued economic development. I am very proud of the thousands of jobs that have been created during my service as Judge Executive. The combination of a dedicated workforce, our desirable geographical location, and a commitment to continue training our workforce with 21st Century skills will allow us to continue creating good paying jobs for our emerging workforce.
As for my future goals, I will continue my commitment to the expansion of broadband internet access. Economic development depends on proper access to high-speed internet. I will also continue to work hard for proper funding of law enforcement and the maintenance of our county road system. I promise to always work as hard as the families I serve. Our citizens deserve no less.
My commitment to the people of Christian County remains as strong today as it was the first time I ran for office. I have the commitment and energy necessary to continue serving our county by working everyday to make our great county an even better place to live and raise our families.
