Bentzel recommends keeping mask mandate through Thanksgiving

Christian County School System Superintendent Chris Bentzel is recommending keeping the masking mandate in place for now in the district’s buildings and to re-evaluate it again after Thanksgiving.

Bentzel made the recommendation at Thursday night’s school board meeting, noting cases spiked again last year during the cooler months and holidays.

No formal action was taken Thursday night by the board regarding masks and the mandate remains in place for now.

Board Member Mike Walker serves on the committee tasked with recommending a name and color scheme for the new consolidated high school and he says they should be down to a top five soon.

Public input was used to begin the naming process and Walker says the committee may give the public a chance to vote on the top five choices in the near future.
