COVID numbers continue to trend in right direction

Kentucky’s COVID-19 numbers continue to trend in the right direction.

Governor Andy Beshear reported 1,796 new cases and a positivity rate down to 6.53 percent Thursday.

In a briefing at the capitol, Beshear said COVID-related hospitalizations in the state have decreased 19% over the last week.

The governor said they’re planning to draw down National Guard members who are deployed in support of hospitals.

Thursday’s 53 new COVID deaths includes an infant that Beshear said had “multiple issues and complications.”
