Vehicle crashes into Bahama Drive home, driver arrested for DUI

A vehicle crashed into the front of a home on Bahama Drive early Sunday morning, leading to the driver being arrested for DUI.

It happened just after midnight and a collision report from Hopkinsville police says 60-year old Jaton Spencer of Hopkinsville was headed east on Holiday Park Drive when she struck a parked vehicle in a driveway at 609 Holiday Park.

Spencer did not slow down as she approached Bahama Drive, plowing through the intersection and into the front of a home at 3722 Bahama, causing severe damage to the brick wall and windows.

An arrest citation says Spencer smelled of alcohol and marijuana, had slurred speech, was unsteady on her feet and she could not stand up on her own to attempt field sobriety tests.

She was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for a blood test and then lodged in the Christian County Jail for aggravated DUI.

No injuries were reported in the crash.
