Kentucky State Police arrested a man for murder following an incident on Hilltop Street in Cadiz Thursday.
The Trigg County Sheriff’s Department received a report of 48-year old Harold Jett of Taylorsville, Illinois firing a shot from a gun at a vehicle on South Road in Cadiz and deputies and Cadiz police officers attempted to make contact with him after he fled in a vehicle.
A pursuit led to a home on Hilltop Street, where Jett exited his vehicle and entered a home.
A short time later, Jett exited the residence and was arrested. Deputies then located 71-year old Mary Dullenty of Cadiz injured inside the home and she was taken to Trigg County Hospital, where she would die from her injuries.
KSP charged Jett with murder and second-degree burglary and the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office charged him with fleeing or evading police and speeding.
