The Atlanta Braves will learn their opponent in the National League Championship Series this evening as the Los Angeles Dodgers meet the San Francisco Giants in the fifth game of their NL Division Series. First pitch from Oracle Park is at 7:07 Central time.

Longtime Oakland A’s broadcaster Ray Fosse is dead at the age of 74. Fosse’s wife said in a statement that he passed away Wednesday after a 16-year battle with cancer. The former catcher played for three seasons in Oakland, and was a part of two World Series championships in 1973 and 1974.

NFL

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philadelphia Eagles kickoff the NFL weekend this evening. The game begins at 7:25 Central time.

NBA

Ja Morant did not play in the Memphis Grizzlies 109-107 loss at the Indiana Pacers last night. Pacers rookie Terry Taylor also did not play in the game.

NHL

The Nashville Predators begin their new season this evening hosting the expansion Seattle Kraken. First puck drops at 7 in Bridgestone Arena.

Off the ice, the Predators announced the signing Wednesday of defenseman Mattias Ekholm to a four-year contract extension worth 25 million dollars. The deal begins next season and will pay Ekholm $6.25 million dollars per year. Ekholm recorded 23 points in 48 games last year.

Golf

The PGA Tour is in Las Vegas for the second straight week for The CJ Cup that begins today. Louisville area native Justin Thomas is in the field. Jason Kokrak is the defending champion.
