Trial date set for man charged in Valero murder

A trial date was scheduled Wednesday morning for one of two men charged with the April 10 shooting death of Delmour Moncrief at the East Ninth Street Valero gas station.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling and public defender Eric Bearden agreed it was time to schedule a trial for 21-year old Dalton Hall of Springfield, Tennessee and Judge John Atkins set it for April 18 of next year.

Hopkinsville police say Moncrief was shot multiple times following some type of altercation at the Valero station formerly known as Scott’s Market and Hall and co-defendant, 27-year-old David King of Guthrie then fled the scene.

Hall is charged with murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and tampering with evidence.
