Moyer announces candidacy for judge-executive

There will be a Republican primary for Christian County Judge-Executive in 2022 as a local businesswoman announced her candidacy Wednesday.

Katie Moyer is the owner of Kentucky Hemp Works and served as West Kentucky Field Director for former Governor Matt Bevin.

She announced she’s running for the GOP nomination in a Facebook post , saying it’s time to “bring in a challenger who is young, effective and uniquely experienced in government issues.”

Moyer will face District 7 Magistrate Jerry Gilliam in the May primary for the right to advance to the November general election.

Longtime incumbent Judge-Executive Steve Tribble has not announced his intentions for 2022.
