The Christian County Health Department is encouraging people to get their vaccines, whether that be for COVID-19 or against the flu as flu season approaches.
Chloe Rager with the health department appeared on WHOP and says they continue to offer COVID-19 vaccinations at their location on Canton Street and an appointment is not required—she says they have Pfizer vaccines for kids 12-years of age and up.
There’s been many questions about booster shots and who is eligible and when they’ll be available—Rager says they’re looking for information the same as everyone else and they’ll be sure to let the public know when they have them ready to go.
Flu season is also on its way and Rager encouraged people to get that shot as well, to help keep yourself safe from a bad situation of both COVID and the flu. They’ll have high doses available within the coming weeks for high-risk individuals.
She says their low-cost rabies vaccine clinic for pets is still ongoing throughout the month of October, and $10 vouchers can be found at the department.
The health department is also still offering free COVID-19 testing Mondays through Thursdays from 7:45 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The tests are PCR and results are typically returned within 48 to 72 hours. For more information about vaccines, contact them at 270-887-4160.
