Two Kentucky players received weekly honors from the Southeastern Conference today for their play in Saturday night’s win over LSU. Octavious Oxendine was named Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week and Eli Cox was chosen as Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week. It’s the fifth time in six weeks that Kentucky has had at least one player honored with a weekly award.
University of Tennessee defensive back Brandon Turnage was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week today. Turnage-making his first career start in place of Tennessee’s leading tackler in injured Theo Jackson-finished with a game-high and career-best 14 tackles and two tackles for loss in Tennessee’s 45-20 win over South Carolina.
