Christian County residents can expect to start receiving, if they haven’t already, their property taxes for 2021-2022 in the mail.
Tax season is underway and goes through April 15—the Christian County Sheriff is in charge of collection and Public Information Officer Chris Miller says if you have questions or concerns about your property taxes, you are welcome to go online to their website or call 270-887-4115.
Those taxes can be paid at the Sheriff’s Department on West Seventh Street in-person, or they can be paid online—as long as they’re paid by April 15.
Miller says there are benefits to paying your property taxes early—if you pay them in the month of October, there’s a two percent discount, but the longer you wait the higher the cost.
Delinquent bills will be transferred to the Christian County Clerk at the close of business on April 15, 2022.
