Kentucky gains 2,696 new cases, 51 new deaths

Kentucky gained 2,696 new cases of COVID-19 from Tuesday to Wednesday as the positivity rate continues to decline.

That rate went down slightly from the day before, now at 9.11 percent, a continue trend in recent weeks—it was over 11 percent a month ago. Fifty-one more Kentuckians have died due to COVID-19, putting the death toll at 8,972.

There are currently 1,634 individuals in the hospital with COVID-19, 476 in the ICU and 314 on a ventilator.
