While COVID cases continue to level off, deaths remain high

Governor Andy Beshear says that while cases seem to be continuing to level off, deaths caused by COVID-19 remains high.

He reported 3,893 new coronavirus cases Wednesday, and 82 new deaths, all of which occurred in either August or September and are still trending younger than ever—he says it shows just how deadly the virus can be and how important it is to get vaccinated.

Governor Beshear says the facts are in the data, and its in your own best interest to get the vaccine.

The positivity rate once again decreased, now at 10.05 percent, with the hope that that rate will continue to drop.  Trigg County rejoins Christian and Todd on the state incidence rate map in the ‘red’, with Lyon County remaining ‘orange’.

There are 1,995 individuals in the hospital with COVID-19, 573 in the ICU and 384 on a ventilator.
