A second arrest has been made by Hopkinsville police in connection with a recent child abandonment case.
As previously reported, officers responded to a 911 call in the area of Greenville Road and East First Street about 3:15 a.m. on September 19 that a resident heard a knock at the door and opened the door to find a child under the age of 2 crying.
They saw the child’s father running away and soon heard a second knock, opening the door this time to find a two-month-old infant. The mother, 27-year old Charise Campbell, was with the father the second time and the resident said they were arguing as they ran into a home on Rozelle Avenue and that both appeared to be intoxicated.
Campbell was located at her apartment about a half-hour later and arrested for abandonment of a minor.
The father, identified as 34-year old Carey Brodie, was arrested Tuesday and served with a warrant for abandonment of a minor and violation of an emergency protective order.
