Reds, Cardinals and Braves win Sunday games

The Cincinnati Reds pounded Washington Nationals pitching for 14 hits in a 9-2 win at Great American Ball Park. Tyler Stephenson had three hits, including a double and a home run, and three RBI, while Kyle Farmer added a sixth-inning grand slam. Nick Castellanos also homered in the win. The Reds host Pittsburgh in a makeup game today, with pregame at 11:40 am on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

Elsewhere in the National League

The St. Louis Cardinals winning streak is up to 16 straight after a 4-2 victory over the Cubs in Chicago. Harrison Bader tied the game in the top of the eighth with his 15th long ball of the season. Andrew Knizner score the go-ahead run in the ninth on a wild pitch.

The Cardinals swept the three-game set and are now six games ahead of the Reds and the Philadelphia Phillies for the second NL Wild Card spot with six to play. Both the Cardinals and Cubs are off today.

The Atlanta Braves doubled up the San Diego Padres 4-2 Sunday to remain two and a half games ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East. The Braves are off today.
