Unemployment was down from July to August in all nine Pennyrile counties.
Christian County’s jobless rate was 4.5 percent, down from 5.5 percent in July and from 6.2 percent one year ago. It equated to 1,108 people who were looking for work and were unable to find it.
Todd County had the sixth-lowest jobless rate in Kentucky at 3.1 percent, down from 3.9 percent in July and from 3.7 percent a year ago. Trigg County’s unemployment was 4.1 percent, down from an even 5 percent in July and one year ago.
The state average was 3.7 percent and the national number was 5.3 percent.
