Pennyrile Senior Games returns to the Sportsplex next week

The Pennyrile Senior Games is returning to the Hopkinsville Sportsplex after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

Pam Rudd with Parks and Recreation appeared on WHOP Thursday and says it takes place Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week and there’s still time to register.

She says they have a good number of participants already signed up, with the oldest athlete a 96-year-old woman—they are encouraging everyone who comes out to wear a face mask while indoors to help keep everyone safe.

Rudd says you do not have to a be a professional athlete to take part. Over the years, the Senior Games have provided competitive, athletic, recreational and creative experiences for regional participants, ages 50 and up, from nine regional counties.
