Child flown, three injured in Crofton-Dawson Road wreck

Three people were injured in a wreck on Crofton-Dawson Road Tuesday afternoon, with a child flown to a Nashville hospital.

According to Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Noisworthy, the single-vehicle wreck occurred in the 1300 block of Crofton-Dawson Road around 3 p.m. when a vehicle operated by Melinda Sue Wheatley of Crofton entered a curve while heading eastbound and hit her brakes.  Due to the wet pavement, she lost control of the vehicle and went off the roadway, striking a utility pole head-on.

A seven-year-old child was flown to Vanderbilt Pediatrics in Nashville and a five-year-old child was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Wheatley was also taken to Jennie Stuart, with all of the injuries thought to be non-life threatening.
