Anthony Manning enters Alford plea to role in North Kentucky Ave. fatal shooting

Anthony Manning, one of the suspects charged in the October 2020 shooting death of Calvin “Cue” Taylor, entered an Alford guilty plea in Christian Circuit Court Monday.

According to court officials, Manning entered an Alford plea—which is a guilty plea where the defendant maintains his innocence, but acknowledges there is likely enough evidence to result in a conviction should the case go to trial—to facilitation to complicity to commit murder and first-degree facilitation to complicity to commit robbery.

Each count comes with a recommended sentence of five years, to run concurrently—the Commonwealth opposes probation, shock probation and parole.

Manning reportedly drove his mother, Larayna Manning—who is charged with murder and robbery—to Taylor’s residence on North Kentucky Avenue and then went inside after hearing gunfire.

Drugs, cash and a safe were missing from Taylor’s home when police began the investigation and police say Taylor’s mouth and wrists were duct-taped, indicating there had been a robbery.
