Barrett named Kentucky Pupil Personnel Director of the Year

Christian County Public Schools Director of Pupil Personnel Melanie A. Barrett, has been named Kentucky Pupil Personnel Director of the Year.

She’s been with the local school district for 23 years, having spent time as assistant principal at Christian County High School and time working with Christian County High School and Hopkinsville High School students to ensure they transition successfully to employment or post-secondary education.

Barrett was instrumental in the start-up of the district’s Online Registration, Virtual Learning Academy, and District Truancy Conferences, and she is known as an expert at conflict resolution and meets with over 800 parents per school year.

She is quoted in a news release as saying, “I am honored to serve Christian County Public Schools and would like to give a shout out to the DPP Office Team, Directors and School Administrators because without their hard work and collaboration this award would not have been earned.”
