The Cincinnati Reds have dropped their last six series after losing to the St. Louis Cardinals 2-0. Sonny Gray gave up a two-run home run in the first inning, the only two runs he allowed in seven innings. Despite the solid start, Gray picked up his seventh loss as Cincinnati could only manage six hits. The Reds are tied with San Diego for the final NL Wild Card spot and they are only a game up on the Cardinals. The Reds start a series in Pittsburgh tomorrow night with pregame at 5:05 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

The Chicago Cubs came back from three runs down to get within a run of San Francisco before ultimately losing 6-5. Ian Happ homered for the Cubs in defeat. The Cubs have lost three straight and are in Philadelphia starting tomorrow.
Freddie Freeman, Eddie Rosario, and Ozzie Albies all homered as the Atlanta Braves took down the Miami Marlins 5-3. The Braves have an off day today before welcoming the Colorado Rockies tomorrow night.
Max Scherzer joined a club only 18 other MLB pitchers have ever been in. Scherzer fanned Eric Hosmer of the San Diego Padres for his three-thousandth career strikeout as part of an eight inning, one hit performance where he struck out nine as the Dodgers blanked San Diego 8-0.
