Ky. gains 5,252 new COVID cases, 36 deaths

Kentucky gained 5,252 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, with the positivity rate dropping slightly but remaining about 14 percent.

Those new cases puts the overall total in the Commonwealth at 615,168 and the positivity rate is at 14.04 percent, down from 14.16 percent the day before.  There were also 36 newly reported deaths, putting that total at 7,971, nearing another grim milestone.

There are currently 2,479 people in the hospital with COVID-19, 665 in the ICU and 434 on a ventilator.
