Pepper spray stopped a man attempting to break into the home of his estranged wife early Tuesday morning on Boales Street.
Hopkinsville police say 65-year-old Clarence Head of Hopkinsville opened an unlocked window and was crawling into the home of his estranged wife at about 12:30 a.m.
He had half of his body inside the home when the victim sprayed him with pepper-spray, ending his attempt to get in.
Hopkinsville police soon had Head in custody and charged him with second-degree burglary.
