Dawson Springs Schools going to virtual learning for remainder of week

Dawson Springs Independent Schools will go virtual for the rest of the week, beginning Wednesday.

Superintendent Lenny Whalen sent a letter to families Tuesday saying that due to changing numbers of COVID cases among the faculty and staff combined with a stomach illness that’s circulating, Dawson Springs schools will utilize virtual instruction Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Students are scheduled to return to their buildings for in-person learning Monday.

Teachers were sending home information Tuesday about procedures for the virtual learning.

Extracurricular activities can continue with current protocols in place and individual or small group tutoring can continue.

Meals will also be provided for all three days this week in a manner similar to last year when there was virtual instruction—as pre-packaged breakfast and lunch will be distributed drive-thru style Wednesday morning from 11 until noon between the elementary and middle and high schools.
