A woman was shot at a truck stop during a custody exchange in Hopkins County Sunday evening and two men have been arrested.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office investigated and says it happened about 5:30 p.m. at the Love’s truck stop in Hanson.

Deputies determined an altercation ensued during the custody exchange and that led to gunfire, with an adult female victim taken by EMS to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Two men who allegedly fired guns, 23-year-old Eugene Paul of Central City and 28-year-old Teagan Anderson of Evansville, were both arrested for first-degree wanton endangerment.

Police say additional charges are possible following additional investigation.
