The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans an extended closure along Roaring Springs Road in southern Trigg County starting Tuesday.
KY 164 will be closed for about three weeks to allow a large culvert to be replaced near the 19 mile-marker. This is between South Road and Delmont Church Road.
The Trigg County Highway Maintenance Crew will replace the existing Casey Creek Branch culvert with a pre-fabricated aluminum arch culvert.
The roadway at this site is expected to close at approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday and should reopen around Sept. 30.
There will be no marked detour, but motorists may self-detour via New Hope Road and South Road. Trucks should seek an approved state route based on load weight.
Approximately 550 vehicles travel this section of Roaring Springs Road in an average day.
