Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is telling the Tampa Bay Times he had the coronavirus shortly after the team won Super Bowl 55 earlier this year. Brady, who didn’t say whether he was vaccinated at the time, did say he is now vaccinated against the virus. The quarterback thinks the upcoming season, which begins Thursday night, is going to be as challenging as last year with COVID. Tampa Bay announced they were 100-percent vaccinated last week.
The Dallas Cowboys are going into their season opener one man short on the offensive line. The team announced on Sunday that offensive guard Zack Martin tested positive for COVID-19 and is expected to be unavailable Thursday night for the team’s Week One game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Martin is fully vaccinated, but cannot return to play until five days with no symptoms and two negative tests separated by 24 hours. The six-time pro bowler has been a staple on the Cowboys offensive line since he was drafted in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
