Braves & Cubs win Thursday, Reds & Cardinals back in action tonight

The Atlanta Braves are back in the win column. Adam Duvall hit a go-ahead home run in the fifth inning as the Braves pushed past the Colorado Rockies 6-5 in Denver. Game two is this evening at Coors Field.

Sergio Alcántara scored the game winning run on an error in the bottom the 11th as the Chicago Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-5 at Wrigley Field. Chicago trailed 3-0 before posting five runs in the seventh on homers by Rafael Ortega and Ian Happ. The teams play game two of the series this afternoon,

Only a half-game up on the San Diego Padres for the final NL Wild Card Spot, the Cincinnati Reds continue their home stand with a series against the Detroit Tigers beginning tonight. The next Reds on Radio broadcast will be tomorrow night at 5:40 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

The St. Louis Cardinals visit the Milwaikee Brewers tonight. Adam Wainwright to and catcher Yadier Molina will reach a big milestone by starting their 300th game together. Only three other sets of battery mates have achieve that feat. The Cardinals trail the Reds by two-and-a-half games for the second National League Wild Card spot.
