New officers were sworn in this week for the Hopkinsville-Christian County NAACP.
Kenny Bates was elected president, Terri Redwine is first vice president, Rev. Lisa Lewis Balboa is second vice president and Willie Canty is third vice president.
Natasha Francis will serve as treasurer and Caratha Buckner as secretary.
Bates, a former Christian Fiscal Court magistrate who hosts a gospel show on WHOP, says the NAACP will have an increased presence in the community.
Bates says he’s already hearing from people in the community ready to get involved.
