Former Tennessee Titan defensive lineman Jurrell Casey announced his retirement after 10 seasons today. Casey spent nine seasons with the Titans and the 2020 season with the Denver Broncos. He started 140 of his 142 career NFL games, totaling 686 tackles, 51 sacks, 59 tackles for loss, 19 passes defensed, eight forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. Casey was also a five time Pro Bowler.
Meanwhile, Titans coach Mike Vrabel spoke about waiving fourth round pick Dez Fitzpatrick. Vrabel said Fitzpatrick had a “uninspiring” preseason and he had to have more consistency and “willingness to play without the football in his hands”. Fitzpatrick was not claimed on waivers and was assigned to the Titans practice squad.
