An arrest warrant for theft of a vehicle was served Tuesday by Hopkinsville police against a local woman.
Princeton Police investigated the incident and determined that on Saturday of last week, 20-year-old Jordan Smith of Hopkinsville allegedly took an SUV belonging to Lametre Riley and wrecked it in Hopkins County.
Riley was able to produce screenshots of text messages where Smith admitted to taking the vehicle, but claimed to have had permission.
Riley told police he never gave her permission to drive the automobile.
Smith was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with felony auto theft.
