A Hopkinsville man has died following a single-vehicle accident Monday night on North Drive.
Hopkinsville Police Captain Kyle Spurlin confirmed Tuesday morning that 28-year-old Eugene Braxton of Hopkinsville died at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville.
The collision report from Hopkinsville police says Braxton was northbound just north of the West Seventh Street intersection about 8:45 p.m. when his SUV went off the right side of the road and into a ditch.
The vehicle came out of the ditch overturning and struck a sign at 622 North Drive.
Braxton had to be extricated from the wreckage by the Hopkinsville Fire Department and he was taken by EMS to Tennova.
Braxton was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
