The remnants of Hurricane Ida—now tropical storm Ida—will make its way through the region through Tuesday and is expected to bring several inches of rain with it.
Christian, Todd and Trigg counties are under a flash flood watch until 10 p.m. Tuesday and Christine Weilgos with the National Weather Service in Paducah says you can expect one to three inches of rain with isolated higher amounts possible, with no severe weather threat currently in the forecast.
She says river levels look good in the projections, but they will continue to keep an eye on them as rain begins to enter the area. However, once the rain moves out of the area, the rest of the week looks sunny and cooler.
In the eight-to-twelve-day forecast, Weilgos says you can expect below normal temperatures and slightly above normal precipitation.
Weilgos says things are still kind of up in the air on the tracking of Ida, saying rain fall amounts could greatly vary depending on that, but its likely the area will see at least some precipitation.
