Patrick Cantlay won the BMW Championship after a six-hole playoff over Bryson DeChambeau. Cantlay earned his fifth career PGA Tour victory and is the only player on tour with three wins this season. Louisville area native Justin Thomas tied for 22nd at 14 under par. When the Tour Championship begins Thursday in Atlanta, Cantlay will begin the final leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs with a score of 10-under for a two-shot advantage over Tony Finau and three shots over DeChambeau. The top 30 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings will compete for the 15-million-dollar grand prize at East Lake Golf Club.
Joe Durant at 17 under was a one shot winner over Bernhard Langer at the PGA Tour Champions Ally Challenge Sunday. Franklin’s Kenny Perry tied for 39th at four under par while Paducah native Russ Cochran tied for 75th at five over par.
