Local businessman and philanthropist Bill Flynn died Monday morning at his Herndon home at 81-years-old.
Flynn started Flynn Enterprises in 1976 and the blue jean manufacturing industry expanded across Western Kentucky before becoming an international company.
Flynn remained active with his company, serving as chairman of the board up until his death.
He helped many individuals in the community and was an active supporter and former chairman of the board at University Heights Academy.
Flynn was very involved in his church at First United Methodist Church in Hopkinsville and supported other causes in the area.
He is survived by his wife Katherine and two sons—Tom and Tim.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Hughart, Beard and Giles Funeral Home is in charge and memorial contributions can be made to UHA or to the church.
