Oak Grove Tourism is gearing up for the return of the Butterfly Festival this coming weekend, and they’re excited to bring it back after having to cancel last year.
Executive Director Traci Cunningham says they’ll have over a thousand butterflies that will be released Saturday, and she says it is truly inspiring to watch, encouraging those who have never seen it before to come see it for themselves.
She says it’s more than just butterflies though, as they’ll have performances and food and wares vendors, kids’ activities and even more to enjoy starting at 11 a.m. at the Oak Grove Walking Trail on Walter Garrett Lane in Oak Grove.
Then at 4 p.m. they’ll release the butterflies, many of which will stay local while others strike out on their own—all events are totally free to attend. One of the main shows will be Dominguez Attractions, which show times at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and then at 3 p.m.
Cunningham says there a lot of fun events happening in Oak Grove in the coming days and weeks, and she encouraged everyone to like the Visit Oak Grove Facebook for more information on dates and times.
