CCPS navigating way through COVID surge

The Christian County School System continues to navigate the ups and downs of the pandemic as it continues with in-person learning during the Delta Variant surge.

Officials with T-Mobile were at Pembroke Elementary School recently donating a large amount of school supplies and Superintendent Chris Bentzel says partnerships like that allowed the school system to provide supplies to all of its students this year.

The most recent update to the COVID Reporting Data Dashboard showed 131 active student cases and 13 active faculty and staff cases—in addition to 351 students in quarantine and two members of the faculty or staff.

Bentzel believes the district is doing all it can to mitigate the spread of coronavirus and he’s hopeful the numbers will start declining again.

The two high schools have the most active student cases—38 at Christian County High and 28 at Hopkinsville high.
