A Hopkinsville man with a long criminal history including 19 separate arrests in the last seven years was arrested again Tuesday afternoon on kidnapping charges.
An arrest citation for 28-year-old Dustin Gary alleges he got into the front passenger seat of a vehicle on Lafayette Road without permission and demanded the female driver take him to “the corner house.”
The woman had a small child in the back seat and told police she feared for their lives as Gary’s demands were not clear.
Gary got out of the car and walked away when the victim drove to the area of her boyfriend, but they were able to direct police to Gary at a location on Catalpa Drive.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping and served with a warrant for probation violation.
Gary was arrested twice for indecent exposure in the last two years and was arrested for felony theft in April after taking a woman’s cell phone while asking if he could mow her yard to make some money.
He also has numerous public intoxication and drug arrests going back to 2015.
