Christian County School System Superintendent Chris Bentzel says there’s a lot of work to be done to prepare for consolidation of the two public high schools following Thursday night’s controversial vote by the school board.
Bentzel says the district will engage with students and find out what their hopes are for the new facility.
The goal is to have students in the new yet-to-be-named high school in the fall of 2024.
The current proposed site is on Fort Campbell Boulevard just south of Lovers Lane.
Meanwhile, Bentzel says the district has been able to maintain in-person instruction this year due to vaccines and masking—which have reduced the number of quarantines due to guidance that’s different from last year.
There were 97 active COVID cases in students and 17 among faculty and staff as of Thursday.
