Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported 3,896 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, along with a number of newly reported deaths.
The positivity rate increased up to 12.80 percent, another record high for the pandemic, and while there were six new deaths, there were 34 additional deaths there were discovered in a record-keeping audit of the state reporting system.
Around 1,158 of the cases were individuals under the age of 18. There are currently 1,780 people in the hospital with COVID-19, 487 in the ICU and 255 on a ventilator.
