Ky. gains 4,836 COVID-19 cases, nine new deaths

There were 4,836 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Kentucky Thursday, along with nine new deaths.

The state also saw another increase to the positivity rate, which is now at a record high of 12.75 percent, the highest it has been since the start of the pandemic. There are 1,708 people in the hospital with COVID-19, 481 in the ICU and 242 on a ventilator.

Only a few counties are still listed as ‘orange’ on the state incidence rate map—the rest, including Christian, Todd, Trigg and surrounding counties, remain ‘red’.
