There will be a daily chance of rain for our entire listening area for the rest of the week, with some localized heavy rainfall possible.
During the weekly weather conference call Monday, Christine Wielgos with the National Weather Service in Paducah says there’s a possibility of rain for the remainder of the week and while you could hear some thunder, the severe threat is very low.
She says heading into the next eight to 14 days, things look fairly average in the ways of temperature, with slightly above normal precipitation.
Wielgos says the area is on track to have a record low for severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings issued, as long as the fall severe weather season stays calm.
Meanwhile, she says she doesn’t expect western Kentucky to feel much impact from Tropical Storm Fred, as it seems to be tracking well to the east of the area.
