The new school year opened in Christian and Trigg County Wednesday morning and one local principal reported a positive start to the first day.
Dr. Cherise Williams is beginning her ninth year as principal at South Christian Elementary School and says they’re excited and focused on meeting all of the needs of their students this year.
Students across Kentucky are required to wear a facial covering to slow the spread of COVID-19 and Dr. Williams says students in her building did well last year with masking and she doesn’t expect it to be any different this year.
South Christian serves many families associated with Fort Campbell and Dr. Williams says that’s one of the school’s strengths.
University Heights Academy will begin its new school year Thursday morning.
