A Hopkinsville man awaiting trial on multiple felonies, including an alleged robbery at Car Mart, is getting back out on bond with major restrictions following a hearing Wednesday morning in Christian Circuit Court.
Forty-two-year-old Charles Hollowell of Hopkinsville was one of two men who allegedly robbed Car Mart in June of 2019 and he’s also facing burglary, fleeing or evading police and other counts from an unrelated incident.
Hollowell had been out on bond while waiting for his trial date, but was re-arrested for violating his curfew and for not keeping his ankle monitor charged.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling asked Judge John Atkins to keep Hollowell in jail, noting his history of violent crime arrests, while Hollowell said he’s ready to go back to work and pledged to follow any guidelines.
Judge Atkins agreed to let Hollowell out as long as he resumes his employment, but he’ll only be allowed to be at home or at work.
Hollowell pledged he would go along with all of the judge’s orders.
