I-24 blocked by tractor-trailer fire in Trigg County

Interstate 24 is closed in both directions near the 65 mile-marker in Trigg County this morning due to a truck fire.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says it is in the work zone where two-way traffic is running with a centerline barrier wall from the 55 to 65 mile marker in Trigg County.

A marked detour via KY 139 and U.S. 68 between Exit 56 and Exit 65 is also now reported blocked by an overturned semi on KY 139 near the Tyler Road intersection.

Officials are now urging eastbound traffic on I-24 in Western Kentucky to take Exit 25 in Livingston County and follow Interstate 69 to get back onto US 68 in Draffenville and head eastbound until re-entering I-24 East at Cadiz.

The blockage near the 65 mile-marker is expected to remain in place until about 10 a.m.
