A young boy was flown to a Nashville hospital after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night on Ridgemont Drive.
The collision report from Hopkinsville police says 36-year-old David Spain of Hopkinsville was halfway through making a left turn from Springmont Drive onto Ridgemont just after 7 p.m. when a scooter ridden by the six-year-old boy came off the sidewalk and into his path.
Spain was unable to avoid colliding with the boy and the child was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and then flown to Vanderbilt Pediatric Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
