School buses will be back on the roads and little ones will be on the sidewalks again Wednesday morning in Christian and Trigg counties for the first day of school and motorists are reminded to be extra careful on their morning commute.
Hopkinsville Police Captain Adam Smith says everyone has been out of the school morning mindset for a couple months and it’s important to remind yourself to slow down in school zones, where there will be an extra police presence.
There’s also a significant increase in pedestrian traffic when school is in session.
Never drive around a school bus that’s stopped loading or unloading.
Heritage Christian Academy had its first day Tuesday and UHA opens the new year Thursday.
